The NFL has a particular epidemic running rampant throughout the league, the issue being domestic violence. From Ray Rice who has not played down in the NFL since 2013 to Reuben Foster being kicked off his team. One of the most recent cases of domestic violence in the NFL is Kareem Hunt. Kareem Hunt was the star running back for Kansas City Chiefs; who had his season cut short when a video surfaced of Kareem having an altercation with a woman resulting in Hunt getting physical with her. The incidence occurred prior to the 2018-2019 NFL season; However, no charges were made by the Cleveland PD subsequently the NFL felt that there was no need to hand out a suspension at the time.

After the video surfaced, Kareem Hunt was released by the Kansas City Chiefs organization and suspended by the NFL for the final 8 games of the 2018-2019 season. Many believe the Hunt should have been handed harsher consequences than he received; but, the jury is still out on him. However, everyone deserves an opportunity to redeem themselves and Hunt seems to be taking that first step. On the Sunday May 19th in front of his teammates and a several of his coaches Kareem decided to get baptized.

Baptism in the christian faith is a declaration of faith and demonstration of the willingness to leave your old life behind and follow Jesus Christ. For Kareem Hunt this may not be the be all or end all; However, this is a great first step realizing that he actions aren't correct and that he has to change. Kareem Hunt now has a second chance with the Cleveland Browns organization and hopefully is able to stay on the straight and narrow.
